Hey there and Happy New Year friends!
Whether 2023 was an amazing year for you where you crushed your goals and made some fun, special memories or the year was a tough one for you filled with sickness, injuries, loss, and hardship, or you just lost motivation after a few months... let's say farewell to 2023 and hello to a fresh start in the new year!
For me personally, 2023 was BOTH. I had my best run year ever, celebrating 10 years of endurance running as a mother runner, running my 5th marathon, 2 half marathons, and some 5K's with my oldest daughter which was pretty special. I ended the year just shy of 750 miles (my highest mileage ever) and I was very consistent with my strength training completing 264 BODi workouts. I made some great memories with my family, checking off the states of New England plus New York, and we cheered on our girls at lots of soccer games, cross country meets, volleyball games, and football games (cheerleading). My husband ended the year with a job promotion that he's really excited about. And we added 6 more backyard chickens bringing our current flock to 10.
It was also a bit of a tough year, losing several important people in our lives and for me, lots of change (and stress) in my day job in healthcare. As with most years, it was a reminder that we can experience really awesome things while also carrying hard things. I think for all of us, most years are BOTH and that is life, right?
I am really excited about 2024 and moving forward with discipline (my word for the year) when it comes to my running and fitness, my nutrition with a goal to get back down to an ideal weight for me, my morning and evening routine, and more reading and writing with a goal to finish that 3rd book I've been working on the last few years. Have you picked a word for the year yet?
Specifically, I will be running 1000 miles in 2024, continuing to get in 4-5 BODi workouts a week, following the Gut Protocol Nutrition plan that eliminates gluten, dairy, sugar, and alcohol amongst other things (because that is the plan that makes me feel my best and shed the pounds!), and applying for the NYC Marathon by lottery in hopes of getting in this year. I still have my Cowtown marathon coming up in 8 weeks and some other races lined up, but for fun, I want to see if I can get into NYC as a bucket list race. Anyone have some big race goals?
I might be a nerd or just a little crazy, but I love having goals and a direction for the year. Without a race on the calendar or something else to work towards, I feel a bit lost. I am someone who likes living an intentional life, who often plans a year in advance. It's not even the achievement of a goal that excites me, but who I become on the journey of working towards the goal. The daily habits and actions, checking boxes, and working on myself that lights me up and helps me to thrive and not just survive.
What helped me stay accountable last year is having a goal, a plan, and a community to do it with. I'd love to offer the same to YOU! Because where there is community, there is accountability! And there's NO better time to join, as we are offering a mind blowing deal of BOGO plus $40 off through the end of the month. As in, 2 years for the price of one PLUS $40 off a total solution pack to get you started on your health and fitness journey. You will also have access to my accountability group on the APP as well as a private Facebook community for runners if that's you.
If you had trouble sticking to a plan last year and didn't achieve your goals, it was most likely due to not having a plan or a roadmap, you didn't treat it as a non-negotiable like your job/kids/house, you didn't make it convenient or fun, you didn't develop the habit, and you didn't have a supportive community to keep you motivated and accountable. Don't make that same mistake in 2024!
Let's get you signed up for Miles, Muscles, and Motivation this year and make this your healthiest, fittest year yet! Reach out if you are interested in taking advantage of this amazing deal this month only!
